FAQ
Questions about the Volty U1
Range, estimated price, charging, payload and the core operating facts to know before you decide.
When will the Volty U1 be delivered?
The VOLTY U1 is in the final stage of prototype ride testing. Vehicles will only be delivered to customers after type approval from the Vietnam Register is complete. VOLTY will only announce a delivery date once the schedule is fully in our control. Everyone on the priority list will be told the delivery date at the same time, before it is announced publicly.
How far does it go per charge or swap?
With 2 battery packs, the VOLTY U1 has a maximum range of up to 195 km. Fully loaded in real city traffic, expect a steady 140 to 160 km. A single pack gives half that range, suited to flexible daily use. Real range varies with speed, load, road conditions and weather.
What is the estimated price of the Volty U1?
Estimated reference prices for the first production batch (10% VAT included):
- Volty U1-R (personal version): estimated ₫40 to 49 million per vehicle.
- Volty U1-F (business version): estimated ₫33 to 39 million per vehicle (for fleet contracts of at least 100 units).
The actual price depends on the number of battery packs and the rack and accessory packages you choose. This is an estimated range for reference, not an official list price. The official price will be confirmed and sent to customers on the priority list before it is made public. You can use the
running cost estimator on this website to work out the budget for your own daily distance.
How are battery rental and running costs calculated?
The VOLTY U1 uses a flexible battery rental model: batteries are not sold with the vehicle, which keeps the upfront cost down. Monthly rental from our partner (10% VAT included, unlimited distance):
- 3-pack plan (TP3U): ₫918,000 / month.
- 4-pack plan (TP4U): ₫1,188,000 / month.
Swapping at a station is charged separately at ₫8,000 per pack per swap, or charging at home costs from about ₫6,600 per pack. The battery deposit is ₫400,000 per pack, fully refunded when the contract ends. The network operator carries the risk of battery degradation and wear over time. Plan terms may change at renewal.
Can I charge at home instead of swapping at a station?
Yes. The VOLTY U1's packs remove easily and charge on a standard charger plugged into an ordinary household outlet (about 2.5 hours per pack for a full charge), with no wall-mounted charger to install. Most private riders and fleet operators today combine both: fast swaps on the road and charging overnight.
What if my area has no swap station yet?
Check the swap station coverage map for your expected area before you decide. The VOLTY U1's battery bay is designed to work with the infrastructure of several different energy partners. While the station network keeps expanding, charging at home can cover daily riding needs.
How much can the Volty U1 carry?
The VOLTY U1 frame is rated for a maximum load of 200 kg. The front deck, reinforced side rails and rear cargo deck each mount directly and independently to the frame. This standardized open structure makes it easy to switch between a commercial cargo setup and a passenger setup with a few simple fitting steps.
How is the Volty U1 serviced, and how often?
Routine servicing is done at VOLTY's service shop and our partner workshops. Because the mechanical parts are standard (chain drive, twin rear shocks, disc brakes), technicians can handle problems or replace wear parts quickly. Recommended servicing is only about 2 to 3 times a year (mainly brakes and tires), half that of a petrol motorcycle. Once warranty terms are confirmed, work covered by the warranty will be done free of charge at VOLTY's service network.
How are the software and smart features updated?
The VOLTY U1 is expected to support remote feature updates and system tuning. Software upgrades, riding mode tuning, throttle response and control mapping will download over the internet, with no workshop visit needed. Mechanical issues will be handled in person by our technical team. The full list of features that can be updated remotely will be published before delivery.
Which license class do I need to ride the Volty U1?
The U1 tops out at 80 km/h, which places it in a licensed motorcycle class rather than the moped category. Final classification is confirmed at type approval, and we will publish it then. Check your license class against the approved specifications before you buy.
Can it carry a passenger?
Yes. With the dedicated rear seat accessory fitted, the VOLTY U1 carries 2 people. The rear deck and the passenger seat swap easily: a delivery workhorse during the week, a personal and family ride at the weekend.
What is the warranty policy for the Volty U1?
The detailed warranty policy is being finalized alongside type approval from the Vietnam Register. The full warranty terms will be published for customers to read before any payment is made. Work covered by the warranty will be done free of charge at Volty's service network, by technicians trained to the brand's standards.
